One Door Closes and a Skylight Opens (because another door is too cliche)

So. I told myself I would write this post two weeks ago. Then a week ago. And then this past weekend. Well, it’s Monday night, and I’m finally sitting down and making the announcement: Due to Blaze Publishing’s closing, the release for Of Silver and Stars has been postponed indefinitely.

Although it is disappointing to cancel the novel’s release, I feel absolutely blessed to have spent nearly a full year with the Blaze family. Without Blaze, I wouldn’t have had the chance to meet so many amazing authors-turned-friends, work with a fantastic editor who really helped honed my writing (and killed all those darlings), and get involved with the publishing/book community.

I’m sad to see Blaze go, but as the company puts it eloquently, “As the world changes, we must adapt.” (For full message, click here.)

I would also like to give a huge shout out to the blogging and book community (particularly to the individuals involved with the novel’s cover reveal and/or been by my side throughout this journey) for all your support and kind words ❤ ❤ ❤  It truly means the world to me.

For now, I plan on editing Of Silver and Stars once more in order to trim down its word count before sending it back out in the querying jungle (Hello summer project!), and hopefully the story will find its forever home. In the meantime, I’ll continue drafting my YA Sci-fi WIP* and planning a soon forthcoming surprise (if all goes well, fingers crossed)!

Cheers,

Tina

*I must admit, after many months of editing, I am psyched to be working on a fresh story! The latest WIP was inspired by Herman Melville’s Moby Dick and the history of the whaling ship the Essex. Click on the picture for more information!
